The pope's daughter

Lucrezia Borgia, daughter of Pope Alexander VI, married three times for her family's politics. Her second husband, Alfonso of Aragon, survived a stabbing in 1500 and was then strangled in his bed; her brother Cesare was widely rumoured to be behind it.
