Killed by a monkey bite

In October 1920 King Alexander of Greece tried to separate his German Shepherd, Fritz, from a palace macaque, and another monkey bit him. He died of sepsis, aged 27. Churchill wrote that a quarter of a million people died of this monkey's bite.
