Four moons for four Medici brothers
Galileo named the four moons of Jupiter he found in 1610 the Medicean Stars, in honour of Cosimo II de' Medici, Grand Duke of Tuscany, and his three brothers. Cosimo became his patron. Later astronomers renamed them after Galileo.
