A surfeit of lampreys
Henry I of England died in Normandy in December 1135. The chronicler Henry of Huntingdon says it followed a meal of lampreys, which his doctors had told him not to eat.

Henry I of England had at least nine illegitimate sons and 13 daughters, and seems to have recognised many of them. His one legitimate son, William Adelin, drowned in the White Ship disaster of 1120.
